ContentStep 4: Develop Content

After your users have been uploaded, the next step is to develop a curriculum and course outline for each audience you are targeting. Since Powerpoint is the bedrock of a StarCast training course, building new or converting existing content is quick and easy. Once you have built your courses in powerpoint, the StarCast Recorder is used to add audio to your presentations, and, with a couple of mouse clicks, publish the content online to your StarCast Hub.

Managing Workflow

Developing effective content will most likely require at least one dedicated employee to manage workflow and assign and assist experts during the production of a particular course. The diagram below describes the suggested workflow:

1) Develop Course Outlines- For each course, breakdown the big ideas that need to be covered. This will help determine the structure of the course and assist the course author when he or she is developing the individual slides.

2) Assign Content Experts to Topics- Your knowledge experts understand the course content better than anyone else in your organization. Delegate each course topic to the most knowledgeable person in that area.

3) Produce PowerPoint Training Presentations- Having each expert organize their knowledge into a powerpoint presentation is the fastest way to produce an effective training course.

4) Record Audio Using StarCast Recorder- Whenever possible, each content expert should personally record voice-over for their courses. Their voice provides the authority, depth, and clarity that produces an effective training course. The StarCast Recorder is easy to use and allows you to publish online with a few mouse clicks.

5) Publish Courses to StarCast- Once published online, your courses are now available to be viewed by anyone you choose, anywhere in the world, any time they need it.

6) Push Content To StarCast Portals- Get your courses in front of the people who need it. "Pushing" content is the best way to verify (via detailed reports) that everyone gets the information they need to be effective. When users login to their StarCast portal they are greeted by your courses, tests, and necessary documents.
