Set or restrict StarCast viewing rights and other StarCast functions by demographic category such as territory, product, or business unit. Users & Groups allows you to associate a total of twenty-three demographic fields to each user.
Users & Groups enhances the functionality of the following StarCast Core Feature components:
Library & Resource - Users & Groups
allows administrators to assign Library & Resource content based on user demographics. For example, you can make sales
courses visible only to sales reps, and French translated courses visible to your employees in Paris, and so forth.
Partitioning the Content Library according to user-needs makes it easier for people to find what's relevant and useful to
them without having to hunt through a vast library. This also allows you to restrict viewing rights based on sensitive or
confidential material.
Portal PUSHES - For larger organizations
with thousands or more users, Users & Groups allows you to PUSH content or traning plans to specific demographic groups.
This saves considerable time when setting up PUSHES to large audiences.
Internal & External Portals - Users and
Groups is required for all Portals other than the standard Employee Portal. Users & Groups allows you to determine what
content appears on your different portals based on demographics. For example, U&G functionality allows you to set
parameters that New-Hires, upon login, are first sent when they login to their New-Hire Portal.
Reports - Users & Groups allows reports
to be filtered by all user-definable demographic groups. This is helpful when you want, for example, to run a training
completion comparison report on the Dallas region vs the Los Angeles region.
